Labs and diagnostic services are essential to get accurate information for the management of medical conditions. The facilities listed below offer a range of tests, from blood work and imaging to specialized screenings.

Labs can help you detect illnesses early, monitor progress, and promote effective care. We are fortunate that San Miguel now has access to many reliable diagnostic services.

Keep in mind that, unlike in the States, you do not need an Rx to get labwork, scans, or Xrays done if you already know what you need. Some labs, however, will ask for a doctor’s order.

Many labs are walk-in and you can order tests yourself. The prices are extremely reasonable, comparatively. For imaging, like MRI, x-rays, ultrasound, CT scans or mammograms, you can also just walk in, but you may need an order from a doctor.

A referral from your GP or specialist ensures you get exactly what you need. Bring your ID and a credit card or cash. Also bring your INAPAM (senior discount) card, if you have one, to the testing facility for a possible discount. You'll get a quick print of your image, but it may take 24-48 hours to receive your radiology report.
